Listing of Curriculum Divisions and Departments

Wake Technical Community College offers more than 90 different programs of study, offered by six different academic divisions. Students completing these programs may earn associate degrees, diplomas or certificates.

Full-time students can usually complete an associate degree program within two years, a diploma program within one year or a certificate program within six months. Some programs may take longer.

Many students enroll in Wake Tech on a part-time basis. Part-time students usually need more time to reach their academic goals, since they are taking fewer classes each semester than full-time students. However, part-time enrollment allows students to combine college studies with work and family responsibilities. To meet the needs of these studies, many programs are offered through evening classes.

Most curriculum programs at Wake Tech are designed to prepare students for specific career opportunities. Some, but not all, programs offer students the opportunity to transfer college credits to state and private universities. The Associate in Arts and Associate in Science programs, offered by the Arts & Sciences Division, are designated as university transfer programs. Selected associate in applied science degree programs, primarily in the Engineering Technology Division, may also offer transferable credits.
